At the end of the financial year of 2019 the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), published its Annual Report. Firstly they summarised their implementation in the industry. They pointed out activities and work applied throughout the year, as well as the results. Additionally it included a recap of the performance in the Maltese gaming industry and an outlook for the medium-term future.

These are some of the key highlights from the Annual Report:
- The authorities cancelled 14 licences and suspended 11.
- Additionally they issued 20 warnings, 89 Notices of Breach and 23 administrative fines.
- MGA received 89 applications for a gaming licence in 2019.
- 15 individuals and companies deemed not to be up to the Authority’s probity standards by the Fit & Proper Committee.
- The MGA sent 69 international cooperation requests in 2019.
- The Authority revised its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit.
- Also it signed an MOU with the Malta Police Force.
- By the end of 2019, the MGA licensed, including both online and land-based entities, stood at 294 companies.
